Original Poems and Analysis

-Annabel Lee, Edgar Allan Poe
Annabel Lee is a poem about how Poe had a love with Annabel Lee since they were young kids. The author descibed their love as  more than love, in line 9 he says "But we loved with a love that was more than love..". By this he means that the bonds of their love were so strong that it cannot be affected by anything. In this poem Annabel Lee represents Poe's wife who died at a young age. Literally, Annabel Lee dies of chill and shiver, i.e. tuberculosis. As he states in line 15 and 16 "A wind blew out of a cloud chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee. But he uses the angels as an excuse, he wanted to know that she died because of another reason not that she got sick.  At the end he makes it clear that they were once married and that he loved her, in line 39 he states "Of my darling-my darling-my life and my bride..". The meaning of this poem was that he truly loved his wife and that he missed her, tome he dedicated this poem to his wife.

-The Bells, Edgar Allan Poe
This poem has four sections each one representing something different, like a persons life. The first section sounds joyful and magical and the type of bells he describes are sleigh bells. This describing when a person is first born, they're young and happy. The second section he uses wedding bells, sounding calm and romantic. I think this section he describes the meddle part of a persons life when they fall in love and get married. The third part uses alarum bells, sounding frantic and scary. This part describes like a fore coming death that everyone faces at one point in life. The fourth section he uses iron bells, sounding mournful and depressing. THis section represents the actual death like a funeral. This poem can and may represent many other things as well.
